Ugh! Guys! I got so caught up in being mushy I forgot to tell you about Plainer Jane by David Wilburn!

Set in real world Manchester, it’s the story of a seemingly ordinary teenage girl who becomes a brutally efficient killer for hire. With no training or special skills, just her own cunning, brutality, and fearlessness, Jane leaves a trail of bodies behind her. Ultimately going head to head with the feared and secretive criminal gang The Nexus, in a war that could ultimately cost not only her life but the lives of everyone she loves.

There’s a link to download the first issue on the Kickstarter page, so  CLICK HERE to check it out!

Have a great weekend, watch out for deer, and tell yer folks I says hi.

Last week and last chance for Kick-Ass Kickstarters!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Nov 06, 2021 at 09:48:00 AM

Sooo…

My panel at TeslaCon was going well at first…

And then… well…

What can I say? I just hate it when people talk while I’m talking.

On the bright side, I understand that the audience enjoyed the presentation and is recovering nicely.

I also wanted to give you a heads up that the Kick-Ass Kickstarters Comics bundle is going away at Midnight, tomorrow night!

Five awesome books from five awesome creators who are killing it on Kickstarter! You are definitely going to want to follow these folks and everything they do! And this assemblance of awesome will be added to the reward of every backer who pledges between now and 11:59 PM CST, Saturday, 11/6

And you know what? I even have a little bonus bonus for you.

Remember To Steal the Sun, from my last update? Well CLICK HERE check out this free bonus chapter:

And I just gotta take a minute to digest something. Eight years of producing Impure Blood, two years of Kickstarting it, a quarter of my life has gone into this project, and it all comes down to this next week. I am so stupidly grateful to everyone who has come out and supported these Kickstarters. Not only have they shown that all this effort has been worth a damn, they have provided the springboard for everything to come.

8 days left! It’s all over next Saturday at Midnight! Can we get to our next stretch goal by then? Let’s sprint across that finish line together!

More soon.

Till then, be good!

But not too good 😉

10 Days left!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 03, 2021 at 11:47:26 PM

Curses!

For just the briefest, shiniest of moments we were over $11,000 and just within reach of our second stretch goal! Unfortunately, we had a backer pullout (for what I'm sure were entirely valid reasons) and now we're back down to just under!

But you know what, I'm a guy who likes to make lemonade! And that means there's ANOTHER bonus comic up for grabs for the backer that pushes us over $11k (again)!

In other news, I will be at TeslaCon in Madison, WI this weekend! And yours truly in responsible for the convention poster this year!

I will be selling these bad boys out of my booth, as well as copies of Impure Blood, and Cthulhu is Hard to Spell. If you happen to be in the area that weekend I sure would love it if you dropped in and said hi! This is where I'll be in the vendor room.

You don't necessarily have to do a loopy-loop. But it might be fun. You should give it a shot.

And if you're in the mood for a high-fantasy heist, your ol' pal Nathan has the cure for what ails you!

To Steal the Sun is about what happens when Raik, the most cunning smuggler this side of the desert, finds where the Ivory King vaults his magical runes. He builds a crew to execute an elaborate heist. Among them is Kahli Mahanta, a religious assassin with blind ambition. A young rogue, Kirin, with wit sharper than his arrows ought to be. And Amara, the so-called Nightspirit, whose raven-hair conceals even darker secrets. If Ocean's Eleven meets Game of Thrones sounds like a good read to you, then you absolutely must CLICK HERE to check out To Steal the Sun.

But if you'd prefer some sci-fi shenanigans, might i recommend Misfitz Clubhouse.

Everyone dreams and fantasizes, but what if your imagination was so powerful that you lost track of what was fantasy and what was reality? That's the life that Meeky Stig Ferry and Sloth currently find themselves in this brand new series brought to you by the Dymanic Duo of Matt Knowles & Steph Cannon, the content creators at Insymmetry Creations, alongside artist RAHIL MOHSIN. CLICK HERE to see what would happen if Gravity Falls, Wreck It Ralph, & Fairly Oddparents were neighbors on a cul-de-sac.

10 Days left! We have to make them count! Can we unlock that top hat pin? Can we get an extra set of 10 books to ComicBooks For Kids?

I'm as much along for the ride as you are at this point!

More soon.

Till then, be good!

But not too good 😉

What a Halloween!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Nov 02, 2021 at 08:47:59 AM

Had a chance to take a break from the campaign trail this weekend to take my daughters trick or' treating, plus engage in various other Halloween flavored shenanigans.

As you can see, I went as that most terrifying of all creatures, a sea turtle with mutton chops.

Indeed, I found this so inspiring I decided that the idea needed to be committed to art. Behold!

Then once I got that far, the monocle just seemed like a natural edition.

This is what happened when I'm left to my own devices.

But it has not just been goofy shit and Kickstarters I've been working on this month. As you may recall, I've also been working on a short story for the upcoming third installment of the Cthulhu is Hard to Spell anthology series. Here's a sneak peak!

My story imagines an existential debate between H.P. Lovecraft and J.R.R Tolkien that plays out as an epic battle between the gods and monsters of mythology and the Cthulhu mythos. It's been a lot of fun to draw and even more fun to research. I can't wait to share the finished product with you. I'm really looking forward to when it launches!

In the meantime, I've got a couple more Kickstarters that I think you'll be interested in!

Halloween maybe passed, but that doesn't mean the spookiness need stop. Vicious Circus is a revenge fantasy horror in which killer clowns run amok, hunting - not children - but evil adults who victimize the innocent and the helpless. With coloring assistance by yours truly, this one will definitely scratch the itch for anyone who's a fan of It, Killer Clowns From Outer Space, or just wants to see child abusers get their comeuppance.

So CLICK HERE to clown a predator!

But if you're more interested in taking of a fallen lamb, might I recommend, Snow Paw by Rob Multari and company.

A spin-off of Rob's super successful Night Wolf series, Cirilla (Cirray) MacKinlay is a strong-willed farm girl, born and raised in the Scottish Highlands during the 19th century, who dreams about a life of adventure. Upon discovering her Pureblood Monoki werewolf lineage, Cirray’s eyes are opened for the first time to the existence of Supernatural beings and creatures of Fantasy.

CLICK HERE and seek the wolf in thyself.

We're closing in on our next stretch goal, but before that, I have yet another bonus comic for the backer that nudges us over $11,000.

Whose it gonna be? One way to find out!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween! As we push into November, I already know what I'm thankful for.

More soon.

Till then, be good!

But not too good 😉

Half in the bag!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Oct 29, 2021 at 04:34:33 PM

Just wanted to give you a quick heads up that the Impure Blood, Vol.4 Kickstarter is half over! Or half done, depending on whether you're an optimist or a pessimist.

We're doing great, we've cleared the first stretch goal, and we've got about 55 hardcopies of Impure Blood going to ComicBooks For Kids!

Plus the ol' mutton chops are still looking distinguished AF

(or at least that's what I'm telling myself).

Headed to TeslaCon next weekend and, I'll be honest, I am looking forward to showing them off a bit.

But this is not now nor has it ever been about my mutton chops! This is about you, and making sure you get the most bang for your buck! So I wanted to make sure you know that you have until Midnight CST tomorrow (Saturday 10/30) to back if you want the Thuper Thpooky Bundle included with your reward.

Truly, the perfect Halloween bonus.

Right now there are 3 bonus bundles (containing a combined total of 25 comics) on the table. But midnight on Saturday, the Thuper Thpooky Bundle is going to disappear like a ghost in the night.

So CLICK HERE to make sure you don't miss out!

While you're there and you're in a spooky kinda mood, check out my dude Andrew Guilde and the latest entry into his series, Forgotten Hymns.

I do love this story. It's about the daughter of a corporate billionaire who's trying to keep her family's skeletons in the closet and inadvertently uncovers the ancient occult society responsible for her father's scandal, and her family’s success. If you liked Succession but thought it could use a little more Lovecraft, then Forgotten Hymnsis the books for you.

CLICK HERE to give it a look!

As for me, I'm gonna contemplate what to do should my mutton chops get bushier.

Little bows maybe..?

We'll see.

More soon.

Till then, be good!

But not too good 😉
